What to Expect

How long should I expect my visit to take?

Our goal is to give quality care to every patient.  Testing, such as EKG and echocardiogram, are often necessary as part of many patients' visits. 

We want every patient and family to receive an appropriate amout of time for a thorough explanation of results the same day and to have their questions answered

Because of the time needed for testing and discussion you should anticipate your visit may be from 1-3 hours in length.  We strive to make your visit as short as possible but quality of care is always our priority. 

If you are more than 30 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.  

Do I need my parent/guardian with me at the visit?

Please know that we are unable to see any children under the age of 18 years without a parent or guardian.  Until the day of their 18th birthday, we cannot make any exceptions.  Unaccompanied minors will be asked to reschedule.

If the child is being brought by someone other than their parent/guardian we will require a  note signed by the parent/guardian giving them permission to be seen.  

If the child is adopted  or in foster care, we will require necessary court documents that reflect this. 

What to bring for the front desk?

It is required to have the insurance card and picture ID of the parent/guardian available at time of the visit.  If you do not have the insurance card at time of visit, you are required to contact the primary care doctor and have them fax a copy to our office.  If no card is available, we may have to reschedule the appointment.

Any co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance or past due amounts are due on the date of service or we may have to ask you to reschedule the appointment.

What to bring for the doctor?

Please bring a full list of medications including doses 

Please be able to provide the name of your Referring Provider or Primary Care Provider.  

Please be able to provide the name of your Pharmacy of choice in case we will need to prescribe medication.

It is helpful if you are able to bring a copy of any medical records and outside test results with you to the appointment.  This may help expedite your appointment.

What else to bring?

Because of the length of your visit if you are bringing a young child you may want to bring a quiet activity for them to do while you wait.

Parents of infants should bring diapers, formula/bottles, pacifier, blanket.  Pacifiers often help to calm our infant patients during testing.  Unfortunately we do not stock these items.  


One of the joys of working in this beautiful area is the changing of the seasons.  Unfortunately conditions may not always be such that we are able to open our offices safely.  We will make every attempt to notify our scheduled patients of changes to our office hours and re-schedule you to the soonest available appointment.    We invite you to check our facebook page for updates on office closures or delays.
