M’Liss Mather, RN, RDCS

M'Liss is both a Registered Nurse and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with credentials in both Adult Echocardiography and Pediatric Echocardiography. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN in 1978.

Her first work experiences as an RN was as an operating room nurse in hospitals in Memphis and Knoxville. Upon moving to Kingsport in 1980, she worked in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Wellmont's Holston Valley Hospital. Then beginning in 1982, her interest focused in cardiac and vascular ultrasound while working in two diagnostic labs at Holston Valley Hospital- the non-invasive cardiac lab where she performed echocardiograms and stress tests, and the vascular ultrasound lab where she performed exams of the carotid arteries and of the veins and arteries of the extremities.

Since 2001, she has worked exclusively for Tri-City Pediatric Cardiology, PC performing echocardiograms on patients from fetus to age 25.

She is married and has 2 grown sons.
