Jerry Walkup Jr., MD, FAAP, FACC
Dr. Jerry Walkup is a fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Cardiology. He has board certifications in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Lipid Association. He completed his three years of training in Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and three additional years of training in pediatric cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Walkup specializes in non-invasive pediatric cardiology. He has interest in both pediatric and adult congenital cardiology as well as acquired pediatric heart disease. He has special interest in preventative cardiology, specifically hypertension, obesity, metabolic disease and lipid disorders in children. His research has been presented and awarded at national conferences and focuses on pediatric metabolic disease and dyslipidemia. He has presented at multiple conferences as an expert in Pediatric dyslipidemia and Familial Hypercholesterolemia in childhood.
Dr. Walkup spends his spare time with his wonderful wife, a medical laboratory scientist in the community, and their two playful dogs
